One of the most iconic hikes in Washington, offering some of the best alpine views in the North Cascades with relatively accessible effort compared to other routes.

**What it is:**  
A trailhead at the end of Cascade River Road leading to Cascade Pass—widely considered the most popular and accessible hike into the alpine environment in the park.

- \~7 miles round trip to Cascade Pass
- \~1,700 ft elevation gain
- Option to extend to Sahale Arm (more strenuous)

- Road starts paved → becomes gravel
