Pia the Peacekeeper – Bainbridge Island
Hidden forest troll on Bainbridge—best paired with a ferry day trip.
📍 Location: Bainbridge Island, Washington
📂 Type: Activity
Why we went:
Part of the Pacific Northwest troll series and a good excuse for a Bainbridge Island day trip—adds something unique beyond the usual shops and waterfront.
What it is:
A large-scale wooden troll sculpture created by artist Thomas Dambo, built from reclaimed materials and tucked into a forested setting on Bainbridge Island.
Experience:
- Short walk to reach the troll
- Peaceful, wooded surroundings
- Feels a bit like a hidden find
- Easy to combine with a broader island visit
👍 What we liked:
- Unique and creative installation
- Quiet, scenic setting
- Makes the trip feel more like an outing than just a stop
👎 What we didn’t:
- Can take a little effort to locate
- Not a long activity on its own
💡 Tips:
- Check directions ahead—can be slightly tucked away
- Wear comfortable shoes for a short walk
- Combine with lunch or exploring Bainbridge
