Pia the Peacekeeper – Bainbridge Island

📍 Location: Bainbridge Island, Washington
📂 Type: Activity

Why we went:
Part of the Pacific Northwest troll series and a good excuse for a Bainbridge Island day trip—adds something unique beyond the usual shops and waterfront.

What it is:
A large-scale wooden troll sculpture created by artist Thomas Dambo, built from reclaimed materials and tucked into a forested setting on Bainbridge Island.

Experience:

  • Short walk to reach the troll
  • Peaceful, wooded surroundings
  • Feels a bit like a hidden find
  • Easy to combine with a broader island visit

👍 What we liked:

  • Unique and creative installation
  • Quiet, scenic setting
  • Makes the trip feel more like an outing than just a stop

👎 What we didn’t:

  • Can take a little effort to locate
  • Not a long activity on its own

💡 Tips:

  • Check directions ahead—can be slightly tucked away
  • Wear comfortable shoes for a short walk
  • Combine with lunch or exploring Bainbridge
